For a second I thought this was my mom's blog - she used that pink and green one for as long as I can remember. As for what one works best, no clue. Sorry. I'll call Maybeline for you.
I've heard that the pink/green one is suppose to be the best for the price, but I hated it. I've had a hard time finding one I like too. I think that the ones that have a smaller wand/brush are better.
I will tell you ALL my little secret. It is a little more pricey, but the only toilettrie item I spend money on. I use Origins (found at Macy's) underwear for lashes and their mascara. It nourishes eyelashes, helping them grow longer and NEVER clumps. I hate all the store bought mascaras...after a few weeks they clump and look terrible. I bought that same L'oreal naturelle one that you have and it's awful. Trust me--Origins. You can get the underwear for lashes and mascara together for $20.
Before I forget, I use Mabeline's Define-a-Lash, waterproof. It's in a green tube with a blue thing on top of the lid. It never clumps up for me & I really like it a lot.
I use Loreal Double Extend (not waterproof!) It's about $10 for a white base and then the mascara, I've been using it for a couple years and I haven't found anything to match. Anyone of my friends that have tried have converted over as well... Ok I sound like an infomercial now. Good luck!

I use the Loreal stuff. I like it but it does clump sometimes. You should get fake eyelashes. I'll start wearing them if you do.
I think Chad likes Almay/Vendela. Well he used to anyway.
